I have been working in the computer networking and telecommunications field for over 15 years. Currently I manage the network for a growing food distribution enterprise. On the side I do network consulting for SMB’s in the Minneapolis area.

This site is all about improving my writing skills. I am not trying to “change world one word at a time” or provide and great insight that will solve great problems. Simply put, I need to practice my writing skills.

I am trying to obtain a list of users who are able to compile and implement code into UniVerse 10.2 to validate they are all appropriate.

How would I go about obtaining this list?

      Hello Steve,
I wish I could help you. Unfortunately I am not sure how you would get that list. Universe is a product I inherited because I administer our UNIX boxes. The developers here have root access to the Universe box, a situation I would like to rectify some day!

Now what little I’ve seen them do, all changes appear to be done in the CUSTOM directory. So theoretically if they did not have modify permissions in that directory they would not be able to make changes to programming. If that is the case then you could see who has write permission in the /adv/src/CUSTOM directory to know who can make changes. I am not 100% sure this is correct. Its just how the developers here do things.

      Good luck!
